Nachdem Wilesco mit der D101 und der D161 bereits zwei Ausführungen im Programm hatte, welche als "Werkstatt" bezeichnet wurden, kam 1979 mit der D141 eine richtige Werkstatt in das Programm. Mit den Pfosten und dem Dach wurde ein richtiges Gebäude angedeutet und der Antrieb der Modelle über die Transmission unter der Decke zeigte realistische Verhältnisse einer Fabrik zu Zeiten der industriellen Revolution. Die Auswahl der Antriebsmodelle mit Kreissäge M53, Schleifbock M52, Bügelsäge M60 und Bohrmaschine M51 ist seit Einführung der D141 unverändert.

And the D14 is also a child of the Wilesco modular system. Take the boiler house of a D16, the aggregate of the D365, add a new base plate and a new flywheel and you have one of the most beautiful machines in the Wilesco range. Extremely compact and still reasonably powerful.
The only pity is that the machine has still been denied an adjustable steam Valve.
Die Bezeichnung D141 deutet darauf hin, dass es sich um eine Werkstatt handelt ("1" an dritter Stelle) und diese von einer D14 angetrieben wird. Das Besondere an der D14 für die Werkstatt: hier wurde ein Dampfventil zur Regelung verbaut, welches eine normale D14 nicht hat.

The designation D141 indicates that it is a workshop ("1" in third place) and that this is driven by a D14. The special thing about the D14 for the workshop: Here a steam valve was installed for control, which a normal D14 does not have.
Zu Beginn waren die pfosten der D141 noch aus Metallguss. Später wurde dann jedoch auf Kunststoff umgestellt.

Bei der D141/66 kam zur D141 noch ein Generator dazu. Das Besondere hierbei: es war der einzige Generator in der Metall-Ausführung, welcher rot lackiert war.

A generator was added to the D141 on the D141 / 66. The special thing about it: it was the only generator in the metal version that was painted red.
Mit dem Generator wurde eine Lampe unter dem Dach gespeist.
