Ich mag die D141 ja wirklich sehr: sie zeigt auf kleinem Raum, wie eine Werkstatt zur Zeiten der Industrialisierung funktioniert hat. Mit Dampfmaschine, Transmission und Werkzeugen. Was mich an der D141 allerdings etwas stört: optisch nimmt man nur die Bügelsäge war. Alle anderen Werkzeuge sind rein rotierende Werkzeuge und nur bei genauem Hinschauen ist deren Bewegung sichtbar.

Das wurde dann mit der D145 anders. Hier ist deutlich mehr Aktion sichtbar: offensichtlich bewegende Werkzeuge und der Schmid schwingt den Hammer.

Also habe ich mir eine alte D141 genommen und habe losgelegt. Da ich das Modell auch auf Vorstellungen und Dampftagen nutzen möchte, habe ich zur besseren Einsicht das Dach partiell ausgeschnitten. So wird das Prinzip der Transmission besser sichtbar.

Im ersten Arbeitsschritt werden die Rohre für den Kessel gesägt. Hier sieht man durch die Speichenräder der Säge gut deren Drehbewegung. Zusätzlich bewegt sich der Mitarbeiter auch noch auf die Säge zu.

Im zweiten Arbeitsschritt werden die Kessel gelötet. Dazu dreht sich der Kessel in einer Vorrichtung und der Mitarbeiter erwärmt den Kessel gleichmäßig, indem er die Lötlampe ständig auf und ab bewegt.

In the second step, the boilers are soldered. To do this, the boiler rotates in a device and the employee heats the boiler evenly by constantly moving the blowtorch up and down.

Im letzten Schritt werden die fertigen Kessel dann noch poliert. Die Polierscheiben sind nicht so exakt rund wie die sonst bei diesem Modell angebrachten Schleifscheiben. Dadurch wird die Drehbewegung besser sichtbar. Zusätzlich dreht der Arbeiter sich zwischen dem Tisch und der Poliermaschine, was das Ablegen der fertigen Kessel symbolisieren soll.

In the last step, the finished boilers are polished. The polishing wheels are not as precisely round as the grinding wheels usually attached to this model. This makes the rotary movement more visible. In addition, the worker rotates between the table and the polishing machine, which is supposed to symbolize the placing of the finished boilers.

Wie in einer solchen Werkstatt üblich wird natürlich auch Strom erzeugt. Über einen Dynamo werden sowohl die Lampen oberhalb der Arbeitsplätze, als auch die Lötlampe versorgt.
